One of m:lab East Africa‘s core activities is to provide a software testing facility for mobile app developers to test their applications on as part of their development process. We believe this is catalytic to creating a mobile economy by adding the value of quality assurance for end users.

Our testing centre for mobile applications is arguably Africa’s biggest facility with testing devices accessible to developers. Developers and testers book time slots to test their applications in our rich inventory of devices from different manufacturers. As of June 30th 2013 the facility hosted over one hundred and thirty mobile devices on the following platforms : Bada, Android, iOS, Blackberry,Symbian, Windows and Windows Phone 8.

Since the opening of the testing facility late 2011,various institutions have generously contributed to the device inventory. These include Samsung, Nokia and BlackBerry. Other contributors include the sales force foundation, HTC, Intel and Microsoft.

Between 2013 and 2014, mobile application developers could access devices to test their applications at the m:lab for free. This was occasioned by the signing of a year long partnership agreement between Qualcomm and m:lab East Africa.

This year we revised the testing rate charges. Find the details on this blog.

To book a slot, send an email to [email protected] with desired time and platform to test. We are open weekdays between 9am and 6pm and weekends on special request.
